Introducing Ali Shumate, Bluegrass Singer - Songwriter

Bluegrass singer-songwriter Ali Shumate has signed an exclusive songwriting agreement with Uncle Hadley Music (ASCAP) as well a recording contract with their parent company, Hadley Music Group.

Hadley Music Group, based in Nashville TN, is owned and operated by Bluegrass singer - songwriter Donna Ulisse and partner Kathy Sacra-Anderson who acquired ownership of the company in January of 2017. It is home to Donna Ulisse’s song catalog from the past seventeen years as well as nine of her album releases. Ulisse began writing with Ali and found a strong chemistry with her as a co-writer. Upon beginning the demo process for some of the songs, she brought them to partner Sacra-Anderson and they both agreed she would be a wonderful fit for Hadley Music Group as a writer and artist.

Ali is a native of Bluefield, West Virginia and now resides in West Palm Beach, Florida. She is no stranger to the bluegrass world having fronted her own band and been a supporting member in other bands playing at festivals and venues on the east coast.

She grew up in the mountains with a love for music from the start.  As a child she was classically trained in piano and woodwinds, later expanding her studies to strings and voice.  She has served as vocalist, pianist/organist and choir director for various churches and houses of worship throughout her lifetime, as she believes strongly in using her gifts for something greater.

Ulisse is currently working with Shumate as producer on a new album scheduled for release to bluegrass radio in early 2019.

Ali is a member of ASCAP, IBMA, CMA and NSAI.
